The Steve Guerra Big Band plays holiday classics arranged by members of the Frost Studio Jazz Writing Program and associated faculty. This concert serves as a fundraiser for the program which supports guest artists, new equipment, and student experiences.

The Steve Guerra Big Band performs in the Miami Jazz Co-Op’s Summer of Big Bands series. You’ll hear music from past recordings and their upcoming release, It Takes a Village.

The 3rd annual holiday concert returns with new arrangements of holiday classics, including a sing-along for the first time! Selections showcase music representing Christmas traditions from around the world.

Juno Award-winning trumpet player Ingrid Jensen is an in-demand musician and composer who has performed with a multi-generational cast of jazz and pop stars, including Clark Terry, Esperanza Spalding, and Sarah McLachlan. She joins the Frost Studio Jazz Band on compositions written by Stephen Guerra, her sister Christine Jensen, and herself.

Rediscover Leonard Bernstein’s powerful scores for iconic American dramas, including West Side Story and On the Waterfront, in new arrangements by Frost students and faculty. Jazz singer and Tony nominee Ann Hampton Callaway and star R&B saxophonist Kirk Whalum join Dean Shelly Berg for an unforgettable evening. 

The Frost SJB will present a concert of music inspired by Children's Books composed by Andrew Loose, Carlos Mata-Alvarez, and Bryan Kennard. We will also premiere my new Suite of the Music from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Will be a fun night for sure! For More Information click here. 

The NHBDA Jazz Clinic is a non-competitive event featuring:

• the observation of several different participating jazz bands.
• sectional master classes.
• jazz ensemble clinics.
• a performance by the festival clinicians.

Emphasis is placed on ensemble development through observation, listening, and clinics by experts.
